Following his geospatial analyses of recent household survey and disease surveillance data sets from Nigeria, project lead Dr C. Edson Utazi is in Abuja, Nigeria this week facilitating a workshop with officials from the country’s National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, National Bureau of Statistics, Center for Disease Control and other relevant organisations . The focus of the workshop is to discuss outputs from the analyses and to integrate these with other data sets to prioritise districts for routine immunisation intervention.

The workshop is part of the Gavi-funded VaxPop Nigeria/Zero-Dose II project which is supporting evidence-based program planning and decision-making. The overall aim of this engagement is to strengthen in-country capacity in the production and use of geospatial data.
